Summer 2026
MINISTRY
We wish very much that we could clearly and confidently share what the next step for our family is – but we aren’t able to do that yet. We deeply thank God for your prayers and support over our last seven years in vocational ministry in Germany.
In our spring update, we shared we were in talks with a local church where Jonas would work part time as a pastoral assistant for one year. Unfortunately, that is no longer an option. We are discouraged and were not expecting to pivot from this plan, but none of this is a surprise to God, and we trust him. Please reach out to us if you have questions.
We have sought the Lord, and counsel from others on what God would have us do. Even when it has been difficult for our family in Germany, we sensed staying in Germany was the hard, but faithful, option. In the last year, we have wrestled if that is still the case.
And we do continue to sense God’s call for us to serve the local church in Germany. It is our happy desire to remain here in ministry. We are pursuing options in that direction. We are open handed with what doors the Lord opens, and we pray for humble and obedient hearts.
Please pray for clarity, direction, discernment and open doors for our family. Lord willing, we will be able to answer the “what’s next?” in the next weeks.
FAMILY
As a family we feel like these past months have helped us stabilize in many ways. We long for new, redeemed pancreases daily. And until that day our family carries this load together.
Fenley will start school in early September – so naturally our living room turns into a classroom as soon as Frau Bueltemann (Nora) gets home. She runs a tight ship and Henning is always getting sent to the principal’s office.
Piper (the dog) has not only learned the bathroom is outside, but is beginning trained to signal at our legs when she smells Nora’s sugar going low. Her training has just started, but the dog trainer said, “Wow she is really the perfect dog for this.”
Paige’s mom was here and all absolutely loved the six weeks we had with Grandma. It was wonderful and we miss her already!
“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
We are thankful for you,
Jonas and Paige
